It started when a few churches in central California decided to hold a 10-day prayer event – after the experience of the believers in Acts 2. Each evening between 7 and 8 pm the people met to read the scripture stories of the Holy Spirit’s anointing and then prayed. Sometimes they prayed silently, other times in groups of two or three – and sometimes as a congregation! Though done at separate times, each church experienced revival – with animosity laid aside and a true spirit of unity, repentance and mission evident. The thought arose: What if the all the churches in the state – or the world – were to petition God at the same time for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit?
I would like to join a prayer group near by Gold Coast.
I am a local church pastor. This is a fantastic idea. And it is scriptural. I would incorporate that idea into my church planner next year for a 10 days prayer program for the church to experience a great revival so as to sense its urgency for mission.
I would like to join a group as well, how would i go about doing this….Kariong
